The Solitaire 2000 is designed for use with British coins – 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 – and credit or debit cards, and can be plugged into a direct telephone connection, and used, straight from the box. No batteries are required. Call charges are adjustable – an adjustable minimum call charge can be applied, and connection to premium rate, “090″, numbers is barred, permanently – but emergency calls can be made without payment, as, indeed, can any call, if the PIN (“Personal identification Number”) is supplied. International calls can similarly be barred, and protection against reverse charge calls is also provided. The Solitaire 2000 features lockable, 400 coin capacity, cash box, and payment is made when the person being called answers the telephone.
